Trick Your Metabolism So Your Weight Loss Doesn't Hit A Plateau

If you're like the majority of people out there, you've probably tried various diets to different degrees of success. You probably have dropped a few pounds, until you get to a certain point, and then you don't lose any more, whatever you do. The plateau thing is in fact quite common--it is something that people deal with whatever diet plan they follow. There's no way of avoiding this plateau unless you deceive your metabolism.

You've probably already had the plateau problem which will probably have caused you a whole lot of discouragement and ended more than one weight loss plan. The plateau is an unusual event and it happens to even the best dieters when they arrive at the third or fourth week of their fat loss programs. Right until that point the weight seems to come off with no difficulties and then it just ceases and nothing really works to help the body shed more pounds. This is one way your body does respond to all of the changes you have been forcing upon it. Your body goes into a protection mode to prevent you from starving and it will slow down your metabolic rate. What this winds up doing is keeping your body from losing any more weight.

This is why people stop trying to lose weight because, this plateau keeps them from thinking that doing so is achievable. This is what causes most people to start eating again and they often gain back more weight than they lost initially. The way to stop this is to select a diet where your calories just get shifted. What you want to do is eat a different number of calories every single day, which theoretically helps you trick your metabolism. If this works on your body it is not going to get into "protective" mode. This keeps your body's metabolism working, rather than slowing down, and your body continues to shed weight. If you get to this point, you have passed your plateau and your diet will keep on working the way it was made to work.

It isn't really hard to work this plan into your daily schedule. One of the more popular caloric cycling techniques is the 14 day method. This method goes for 2 weeks: you do ordinary things for the first eleven and then in the last three you eat whatever you want. Rotate your food throughout each day to fool your metabolism and then eat anything you want to keep yourself from reaching the plateau. This also keeps you from being frustrated at a rigid regimen with your eating. You can continue doing these 14 days again and again until you are satisfied with your weight loss.

The 2 day plan is another excellent plan in which you eat normally for one day and then cut your calories by 20% all the way up to 35%. You do this every two days for as long as it takes you to reach your weight loss goals. This is a program that ought to get your attention because it could be just what you need to pass your plateau and lose all of the weight you wish to lose.
